This is a travel-intensive role with strong earning potential through consistent overtime. As a Senior Field Service Technician, you will serve as a technical lead in the field, owning complex commissioning, troubleshooting, and execution across critical projects.
Position Overview
The Senior Field Service Technician (S3) is the senior field technical lead responsible for execution across all service phases, including rework, start-up, commissioning, and post-install service.
This role requires advanced expertise in HVAC systems, including CRAH and chiller equipment, with full ownership of complex L4–L5 commissioning. You will act as the on-site technical authority, ensuring system performance, quality, and successful customer delivery.
Travel and Location
Schedule: 2 weeks in the field / 1 week home (flexible based on projects)
Open to candidates based in: Texas, Wisconsin, Arizona
Primary project locations: Abilene, TX; Amarillo, TX; Wisconsin (project-based); Mesa, AZ
Travel requirement: 50–80%

Key Responsibilities
Lead start-up and commissioning activities (L2–L5), with ownership of complex L4–L5 commissioning execution
Scope, plan, and execute complex rework and completion activities to ensure systems are deployment-ready
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced HVAC, electrical, and controls system issues in mission-critical environments
Lead on-site field execution, supervising S1/S2 technicians and coordinating with external contractors
Oversee customer handover, ensuring systems meet performance, quality, and operational expectations
Handle complex field escalations, including detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and system resolution
Support service parts identification and provide technical guidance to customers
Serve as the primary on-site technical authority, coordinating with customers, general contractors, and internal teams
Provide structured feedback to Engineering and Manufacturing to improve product performance and field execution
Ensure safety compliance and execution readiness across all field activities
Requirements
6–10+ years of HVAC field service or industrial/mechanical experience
Strong experience with CRAH and/or chiller systems
Proven expertise in L4–L5 commissioning and advanced troubleshooting
Experience leading field work, supervising technicians, and coordinating contractors
Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems
EPA 608 Universal certification required
OSHA 30 certification preferred
Willingness to travel frequently (50–80%)
Ability to work extended hours and overtime as needed
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
