Mesa, AZ
Apply for this job

Who are we?

XNRGY Climate Systems is a North American leader in sustainable design and advanced manufacturing of custom air handling, liquid cooling, and thermal management systems. We deliver high-efficiency solutions for mission-critical environments like data centers, healthcare facilities, clean rooms, battery plants, and life sciences, helping reduce carbon footprints through innovative, energy-efficient technologies.

Our cutting-edge U.S. Technology headquarters and manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona (opened in 2025, with ongoing expansions) features Industry 4.0 capabilities and supports vertically integrated production, including custom fabrication of key sub-components to ensure quality, control, and sustainability.

As part of our rapid U.S. growth, XNRGY is seeking a highly experienced Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Equipment and Fabrication to join our team on-site in Mesa, Arizona. Reporting to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of fabrication processes and equipment for new and existing products, driving efficiency, precision, scalability, and cost control in our custom, high-performance manufacturing environment.

An overview of your responsibilities!

  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in developing and implementing advanced fabrication processes for custom components (e.g., sheet metal enclosures, structural frames, and other precision parts for AHUs, chillers, fans, and related systems).
  • Participate in and lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Fabrication workshops, partnering closely with design, product, and R&D engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability, material efficiency, reduced waste, and seamless integration into downstream assembly.
  • Define and specify fabrication processes, capital equipment (e.g., CNC machines, laser cutters, presses, welding systems, robotic automation), tooling, fixtures, and technologies for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Design and optimize shop floor layouts, workflow, and material handling for efficient, safe, and lean fabrication operations, minimizing bottlenecks and supporting high-mix, low-volume custom production.
  • Ensure fabrication processes meet the highest quality and precision standards by developing PFMEAs, control plans, process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), and validation protocols for critical components in mission-critical applications.
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate advanced manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics, Industry 4.0 digital tools (e.g., MES integration, real-time monitoring), and sustainable practices to enhance fabrication performance and reduce environmental impact.
  • Lead the launch, validation, and handover of fabrication equipment and processes to production teams, including operator training, process qualification, and ramp-up support.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement (e.g., lean principles, Kaizen), safety, and sustainability within the fabrication and manufacturing engineering teams.

What you'll need, among other things!

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, with significant expertise in equipment specification, fabrication processes, and custom component production (e.g., in HVAC, industrial machinery, aerospace, or heavy equipment sectors).
  • Proven track record in Design for Manufacturing/DFM, New Product Introduction (NPI), and equipment integration for fabricated assemblies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis, statistical tools, root cause analysis, and data-driven optimization.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to collaborate across engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and vendor teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to dynamic priorities, and thrive in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools; knowledge of fabrication technologies (CNC, welding, forming), lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 is highly desirable.

Do you have other qualifications? Share what sets you apart—such as specialized experience in automated fabrication for large-scale custom systems, sustainable material processes, or advanced equipment commissioning—that would strengthen our team.

Does this sound like you? We look forward to receiving your application!
